Settings overview

Your Settings area is where you manage your profile, security, payout method, notifications, and compliance. This page gives you a broad overview of each section so you know where to find everything and what to do if something is missing.

What’s in Settings

After you log in, open Settings from the sidebar (or your account menu). You’ll see several sections. Depending on your account and region, some items may be named slightly differently or only appear when they apply to you.

Profile

What it is: Your account details—name, email, phone, and sometimes address.

What you can do:

  • Change your display name (how you appear in the dashboard and to payers if applicable).
  • Change your email (you’ll usually need to verify the new email before it’s fully active).
  • Add or update your phone number (used for security and notifications; required in some regions).

Where: Settings → Profile (or Account / Personal details).

See also: Profile & security for step-by-step and security tips.

Payment profile

What it is: How you appear to payers—your display name, logo, and branding on invoices or checkout (if supported).

What you can do:

  • Set your display name (your name or how you want to appear to clients).
  • Upload a logo or image (if supported).
  • Add a support URL or contact info shown on invoices or checkout (if supported).

Where: Settings → look for Payment profile or Branding.

Payout method

What it is: The bank account (or other supported method) where you receive payouts.

What you can do:

  • Add or change your bank account (account number, routing/SWIFT, etc.).
  • See payout method status (e.g. verified, pending).
  • Remove or replace a payout method.

Where: Settings → Payout method (or Bank account / Payouts).

Important: You must complete onboarding and identity verification before payouts can be sent. If you don’t see Payout method or it’s disabled, finish onboarding and verification first.

See also: Payouts for how payouts work and when you get paid.

Security

What it is: Password, passkeys, and two-factor authentication (2FA).

What you can do:

  • Change your password – Use a strong, unique password.
  • Passkeys – If supported, add a passkey (e.g. Face ID, Touch ID, security key) for sign-in.
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) – If available, turn on 2FA so a second step (e.g. app or SMS) is required when logging in.

Where: Settings → Security (or Password / Login security).

See also: Profile & security for step-by-step and what to do if you’re locked out.

Notifications

What it is: Email and in-app notification preferences.

What you can do:

  • Choose which emails you get (e.g. new payment, payout sent, verification reminders).
  • Turn in-app notifications on or off (if supported).
  • Set how often you get digests (e.g. daily summary).

Where: Settings → Notifications (or Notification preferences / Emails).

Transactions

What it is: View and export your transaction history.

What you can do:

  • View all payments, refunds, and payouts.
  • Filter by date, status, or type.
  • Export (e.g. CSV) for your records or accounting.

Where: Settings → Transactions or the main Transactions item in the sidebar (depending on your app). Both show the same data.

See also: Transactions for what each status means and how to export.

Privacy and data

What it is: Privacy and data preferences (if offered).

What you can do:

  • Read the privacy policy and data usage.
  • Opt in or out of marketing emails (if separate from transaction notifications).
  • Request data export or deletion (where available).

Where: Settings → look for Privacy, Data, or Preferences.

W‑8BEN (tax form)

What it is: A tax form for non‑US persons who receive US-source income through the platform.

What you can do:

  • Complete the W‑8BEN (or similar) form when the platform prompts you.
  • Update it if your tax status or details change.

Where: SettingsW‑8BEN or Tax forms (only shown when applicable).

When: The dashboard will show an alert when the form is required. Complete it so your payouts and tax reporting are correct. See Verification & compliance for more on tax and compliance.

Verification & compliance

What it is: Identity verification status and document requests.

What you can do:

  • See your verification status (e.g. pending, verified, action needed).
  • Upload or resubmit documents (ID, proof of address, etc.) if requested.
  • See what’s missing and what to do next.

Where: Settings → Verification (or Compliance / Identity) or the Onboarding / Verification area in the sidebar.

See also: Verification & compliance and Onboarding.

Common issues

I don’t see “Payout method” or it’s greyed out.
Complete onboarding and identity verification first. Payout setup is unlocked after you’re verified.

I can’t save my profile / bank details.
Check that all required fields are filled and valid (e.g. email format, correct bank details). If you see “Verification required,” complete the steps shown (e.g. verify email or upload a document).

I don’t see “W‑8BEN” or “Tax forms.”
Those sections only appear when they apply to your account (e.g. non‑US person receiving US-source income). If you think you should see them, contact support.

Settings look different on my screen.
Labels and layout can vary by region and product. Use the sidebar and Settings submenu; the sections above correspond to the main areas (Profile, Payout, Security, Notifications, Transactions, Tax, Verification).
